I am a 26 year old blogger and graduate student of Global Communications living in Paris. As someone with an unbridled passion for Brazil and Brazilian Portuguese, I recently started teaching myself this beautiful language. This blog documents my journey as I learn Portuguese and all things Brazilian!
In case you are interested, here are a few tidbits about me:
I love languages. Over the years, I have studied Spanish, Italian, French and now Portuguese (In case you can’t tell, romantic languages are my favorite, but I don’t discriminate!).
I love extreme sports. I went skydiving when I was 20…loved it. Can’t wait to go again!
I was an Art History and Communications double major in college…After studying abroad in Rome for a semester, I fell madly in love with not only the city (and of course the language) but the art and architecture there as well. I loved being surrounded by 2,500 years of history on a daily basis.
I am now studying Global Communications, and while I still don’t know exactly what I want to do with my life, I eventually plan to start my own company. Which will hopefully be a global one and will allow me to speak Portuguese on a daily basis 🙂
I LOVE to travel, live abroad and interact with different cultures. Outside of the US, I have lived in Toulouse (for 2 years), Rome, and now Paris. Top places I want to go to at the moment are: Brazil (duh), South Africa, Southeast Asia (Thailand and Indonesia especially) and Dubai. Favorite places visited so far: Italy (it’s beautiful, amazing art, great food, beautiful language…need I say more?), New Zealand (the people are sooo nice), British Virgin Islands (gorgeous isolated beaches in the caribbean = perfection) and Salamanca (absolutely gorgeous and adorable town in Spain, filled with young people).
I love tropical places. Plop me anywhere on the beach/by the ocean, and I’ll be happy as a clam.
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I don’t think you EVER get to old to dress up for Halloween.
Some of the funnest days of my life have been at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. This is an event that everyone must go to at least once in their lives.
But of course….there’s nothing I love more than my family and friends (cheesy, I know…but it’s true!)
Well, I think I’ve pretty much summed myself up in as few words as possible…
